La Liga champions Atletico Madrid are keeping close tabs on Borussia M’gladbach midfielder Granit Xhaka, according to Sport Bild.
Los Colchoneros need to add some fresh blood to the centre of the park given that Tiago Mendes is not getting any younger and Mario Gomez could leave in the summer.
As a result, they are taking a closer look at Borussia M’gladbach starlet Granit Xhaka, who has been in fine form this season.
Atletico Madrid scouts have watched the 22-year-old on several occasions this term, while the club officials even spoke with his father.
Xhaka has a €20 million release clause inserted in his deal, but the problem is it will not be active before the summer of 2017.
However, the latest report suggest Atletico are ready to splash up to €25 million on the Switzerland international.
