Atletico Madrid are considering a summer bid for Villarreal star Mateo Musacchio, El Mundo Deportivo has learned.
Los Colchoneros could stay without Brazilian defender Miranda this summer and they view the Argentine defender as a perfect long-term replacement.
Even if Villarreal see Musacchio as a key member of the squad, they are willing to do business with Atletico since they are showing interest in several players owned by los Colchoneros.

Mateo Musacchio, 23, already boasts a wealth of La Liga experience, having amassed 139 league appearances since arriving from River Plate.
The player, who has two Argentina caps to his name, is also believed to be on the radar of Barcelona as they hope to sign a successor to Carles Puyol this summer.
