Atletico in new bid for Capoue
Spanish daily El Mundo Deportivo has learned that Atletico Madrid have submitted a new proposal for Toulouse midfielder Etienne Capoue.
Los Colchoneros have increased their bid to €9 million, having previously had a €7 million offer rejected by the Ligue 1 side.
Some ten days ago it looked as though the midfielder was set for a Premier League move, as Cardiff had a €12 million bid accepted for the highly rated footballer.
However, Capoue himself rejected a proposal from the Bluebirds, hoping to make a switch to Vicente Calderon instead.
As a result, Atletico have reignited their interest in the player and they certainly hope their latest proposal will prove sufficient.
Etienne Capoue, 25, has spent his entire career at Toulouse and is widely regarded as one of Ligue 1’s top midfielders.
Liverpool turn attention to Siqueira
Liverpool are weighing up bid for Granada full-back Guilherme Siqueira, according to Spanish newspaper AS.
The Reds are in the market for a new left-sided defender and they have so far been linked with Lorenzo Melgarejo and Aly Cissokho.
However, with the two targets proving difficult to acquire, they seem to have switched their attention to Granada star Guilherme Siqueira.
The 27-year-old is also wanted by Real Madrid, but given los Blancos have yet to make their interest concrete, Liverpool appear to have moved to the front of the queue.
Siqueira is looking for a new challenge after spending last three seasons at Malaga and he has reportedly asked the club chiefs to leave this summer.
And while the full-back has a €25 million release clause in his contract, Granada currently value him at €14 million.
Fenerbahce sign Emmanuel Emenike
Fenerbahce have announced on their official website that they have completed the capture of Nigerian forward Emmanuel Emenike from Spartak Moscow.
While the cost of the transfer was not disclosed, it was revealed the 26-year-old had signed a four-year contract at Sukru Saracoglu.
Fenerbahce were heavily linked with a move for Benfica’s Oscar Cardozo, but they ultimately gave up on the Paraguayan and turned their attention to long-term target Emmanuel Emenike.
The interesting thing is this is the second time the Turkish giants splash the cash on the highly rated Nigerian.
Emenike had joined Fenerbahce from Karabukspor in July 2011, but was sold to Spartak Moscow less than a month later after the Turkish side were banned from European competitions.
He has since made 44 Russian Premier League appearances and scored 21 goals in the process.
