Atletico Madrid are interested in signing Thorgan Hazard from Borussia Monchengladbach, according to Sport Bild.
The younger brother of the more established Eden Hazard, Thorgan has produced a fantastic output for the Bundesliga side this season. He played in 14 games in all competitions, in which he scored 11 goals and laid on seven assists for his teammates. Naturally, such numbers, perhaps slightly helped by his brother’s reputation, have attracted the attention of top clubs around Europe. However, it seems Atletico’s interest is in this moment the most concrete one.
With the 25-year-old’s contract having 18 months yet to run, Borussia probably won’t be feeling pressured into selling his services in January. On the other hand, they might consider it in the summer in order to prevent the deal entering its final year, which would likely mean a significant drop in price.
Should Hazard’s form continue at this level, it’s likely the Madrid club would be facing some stiff competition for his signature.
