Marca has suggested that Atletico Madrid chiefs plan to offer goalkeeper Jan Oblak a new and improved deal in an attempt to ward off interest from top European clubs.
The Slovenia international has developed into one of Europe’s leading shot-stoppers and los Colchoneros are bracing for big money offers from abroad.
Even though Oblak’s release clause currently stands at €100 million, Atletico Madrid chiefs plan to further increase it in light of recent interest from Paris Saint-Germain.
Having seen the Saints pay €222 million for Neymar, they are worried that they might match the release clause for Oblak as well.
The Slovenian footballer currently has a deal until June 2021 at Vicente Calderon and everything suggests he will soon be offered a new contract.
Since joining the club from Benfica, Oblak managed 79 La Liga appearances and another 28 Champions League outings.
