Atletico line up Burak Yilmaz bid
Atletico Madrid are weighing up summer move for Galatasaray striker Burak Yilmaz, Turkish newspaper Fanatik has revealed.
Los Colchoneros want to have a replacement ready should star striker Radamel Falcao decide to leave in the summer, and they have reportedly made the Turkish international their number one target.
Atletico Madrid officials have been hot on the trail of Yilmaz for over a year now, but they missed out on him last summer as he opted to join Galatasaray.
The 27-year-old broke the Turkish Super Lig goalscoring record last term, bagging 33 goals in 34 league appearances and he has continued the rich vein of form this season.
While scoring 14 goals in 21 league games, Yilmaz has netted 8 times in as many Champions League fixtures, helping his side reach the quarter-finals of the competition.
As a result, he has been linked with a number of Europe’s top clubs, but Galatasaray president Aysal Unal recently slapped a €40 million tag on his prized asset.
PSG in talks for Moutinho
Paris Saint-Germain have launched an assault on Porto midfielder Joao Moutinho, according to French newspaper Le 10 Sport.
The Saints have reportedly opened talks with the player’s club and his representatives over a summer move to Parc des Princes.
PSG, however, face a stiff competition for Moutinho’s signature, with Chelsea, Tottenham and few other high-profile sides also keen.
The 26-year-old was on the verge of joining Tottenham in the January transfer window, only to see the move fall through as the clubs could not agree on the transfer fee.
He was, nevertheless, given assurances by club chiefs that he will be allowed to leave Estadio do Dragao at the end of the current campaign.
Joao Moutinho is widely regarded as one of the Europe’s best central midfielders and it is hardly surprising that free-spending PSG are after him.
Draxler on Juventus radar
Italian daily Tuttosport is reporting that Juventus are keeping close tabs on Schalke midfielder Julian Draxler.
The Old Lady is slowly returning to old glory days and club chiefs are eager to ensure the latest uptrend in fortunes continues for as long as possible.
It is for that reason that club officials are already working on the summer targets, looking at a number of high-profile footballers.
According to Tuttosport, Schalke midfielder Julian Draxler is one of the first names on their hit-list.
Despite his fragile age, Draxler is considered a key member of the side at Veltins Arena and has broken into the Germany squad a while back.
The 19-year-old is currently happy at Schalke, but he could be ready to consider his options if the Miners miss out on Champions League qualification.
Juventus are closely monitoring the situation and the Bianconeri are prepared to offer around €15 million for the highly rated midfielder.
