Atletico Madrid have not had much luck with their attacking choices recently. After selling Antoine Griezmann, they have gone all-in on Joao Felix who is still developing, while players like Alvaro Morata and Diego Costa are not consistent enough. To make things worse, wingers brought in recently, like Thomas Lemar, are also not doing well and now Atletico Madrid are interested in signing a striker from Serie A.
According to AS, they are looking at the prospects of getting Krzysztof Piatek or Andrea Belotti in the January transfer window. This seems like an unrealistic proposition, to make one of those two deals happen in such short timeframe for players that are so valuable to their sides as Piatek and Belotti are for AC Milan and Torino, respectively.
After their defeat to Barcelona last weekend, Atleti have dropped down to sixth in La Liga and currently trail league-leaders Barca by six points. Piatek has only scored three goals for Milan this season while Belotti has 13 for Torino.
