Odds: 1/2 @ Bet365

La Liga returns this weekend with a number of very interesting games gracing the tenth match-week in Spain. Gaps are beginning to appear between sides in the league, with some enjoying space at the top, while others are sinking deeper into trouble at the bottom of the table. However, Atletico Madrid’s game with Villarreal does not concern the bottom half, with both sides sitting pretty this season.

Atletico Madrid have been in good form of late as they have managed to pick up three wins in their last five, with the other two games ending in draws. This has seen them rise to fourth in the league with 19 points. While they are six points short of Barcelona at the top, Atleti will feel that they are fairly well placed to make a charge to the top of the table.

Villarreal have been enjoying a similarly impressive run of late, winning their last three games on the bounce to elevate themselves to sixth in the league with 16 points. 15 goals scored shows they are no slouches going forward, but they have conceded 10 times this season, meaning there is a defensive weakness in the side. However, the visitors will know that a handsome win would take them above their hosts in the table and consolidate their position in the league, while Atleti simply must win this game if they are to keep pace with Barcelona. With this in mind, Bet365 are giving Atletico odds of 1/2 to beat Villarreal on Saturday.
