Atletico Madrid welcome Chelsea to the Wanda Metropolitano in the Champions League on Wednesday evening, and are favourites to pick up all three points to leapfrog the Blues in Group C and potentially end the day top of the table.
As for the hosts, Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid side are currently second in Group C with one point from their first game in the Champions League, having been held to a draw by AS Roma. Ahead of Wednesday’s clash, however, Atleti are coming off the back of three consecutive wins in all competitions, while enjoying a seven-game unbeaten run.
As for the visitors, Antonio Conte’s Chelsea side find themselves top of the table with three points from one game, enjoying a 6-0 win over FK Qarabag. The Blues have been in fine form of late too, boasting four wins in five, but their Champions League record away from home doesn’t make for good reading – one win from last five on the road.
