Atletico Madrid 5/6 to beat Roma in Wednesday’s Champions League clash

Competition: Champions League

Market: Atletico Madrid to beat Roma

Odds: 5/6 @ Bet365

The Champions League returns this week with a number of huge games to come. With the competition moving into its fifth game-week, a victory for most sides could be the difference between a team staying in the competition and going out early. With this in mind, struggling Atletico Madrid host Roma in a game that is a must-win for the Spanish side.

Atletico Madrid have been in awful form in the Champions League this season and they are in real danger of going out of the competition at the group stage. A draw with Roma was followed by a defeat at the hands of Chelsea, while they then drew in both games with group minnows Qarabag, meaning they have accumulated just three points this season. They can still go through this term, but they simply have to win if they are to cut the gap on their opponents for the evening.

For Roma, things have been much better this season. The Italian side have won two games and drawn twice this campaign, with their last contest with Chelsea ending with the side hammering the Blues 3-0. A win this evening would secure a Champions League knock-out round berth, whilst also knocking out the Spanish side. Considering Atleti have not been able to pick up a win this term, Roma will be hugely confident about beating the side, but Atleti are superb at home, and with their backs against the wall they will be going all out to win. With this in mind, we are backing Atletico to win with odds of 5/6 from Bet365.
