Atletico Madrid welcome Bayer Leverkusen to the Vicente Calderon in the second leg of tonight’s Champions League last-16 clash, and are big favourites to come out on top to reach the quarter-finals of the competition. Atleti won the first leg 4-2 at the BayArena and should make light work of their German opponents with home advantage.
Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid side are coming off the back of six wins and two draws from their last nine games in all competitions, boasting three wins from four at home ahead of the visit of Leverkusen. And given how they beat the Bundesliga outfit in their own backyard, it’s hard to see the visitors get back into this tie.
As for Bayer Leverkusen, the visitors haven’t been in the best shape for their trip to the Vicente Calderon.
