La Liga giants Atletico Madrid are said to have secured another important deal despite still being unable to register new players due to their ongoing ban.
Los Colchineros will be free to do so starting from January 2018 and the club management is stepping up efforts to boost the squad and form a more competitive side for the second part of the season.
One of the players said to have agreed to join Atleti once the transfer window reopens is Sampdoria midfielder Lucas Torreira.
Goal.com are reporting that La Liga giants have already secured a €40 million deal for the in-form Uruguay midfielder who made a fantastic start to the season at Sampdoria.
Torreira joined Blucecrhiati from Pescara two years ago but was loaned out to his former club before joining up with Sampdoria to develop into a key player at Marassi.
The 21-year-old midfielder’s style of play has drawn comparisons to Marco Verratti and Lucas Torreira is widely touted to reach the similar level of quality to PSG star’s.
Torreira made 11 Serie A appearances this season, scoring two goals in the process.
