La Liga giants Atletico Madrid have submitted an official bid for Vasco da Gama youngster Paulinho, according to Diario Carioca.
The 17-year-old has already shown a great deal of potential at senior level and was voted Young Player of the Season in Brazil’s top flight.
Having managed 5 goals and 3 assists in 24 competitive appearances, the winger has seen PSG, Inter Milan and AC Milan express interest in his services, but it was Atletico Madrid who made the first move.
Namely, los Colchoneros offered €14 million for the talented footballer, but Vasco da Gama rejected the bid, pointing the Spanish side to the player’s €30 million release clause.
Paulinho had also impressed at the U17 World Cup in India last year, scoring 3 goals as Brazil achieved a third-place finish.
