Atletico Madrid are on the verge of signing Braga defender Silvio, Record has reported.
Los Colchoneros have been tracking the talented full-back throughout the season, and they have already opened talks with the Liga Sagres side.
Atletico Madrid sporting director Jesus Garcia Pitarch has watched the 23-year-old in action when Braga hosted Dynamo Kiev in the Europa League quarter-finals, and he used that visit to meet with club’s president Antonio Salvador.
The two clubs are now very close to reaching an agreement, with Atletico set to pay around €4 million for the promising defender.
Pitarch will attend the Europa League semi-final clash between Benfica and Braga later today and he could even close the deal with the blessing of Atletico president Enrique Cerezo and chief Gil Marin.
Silvio has largely impressed playing for Braga this season and he is considered one of the best right-backs in Portugal at the moment.
