Atletico Madrid are on the verge of signing Espanyol striker Pablo Daniel Osvaldo, according to AS.
With Diego Forlan likely to leave the club at the end of the season, Atletico Madrid chiefs have been on the look out for his replacement.
Los Colchoneros had had several targets, including Nelson Valdez and Gervinho, but they have ultimately opted for Espanyol striker Osvaldo.
The Argentine who also holds an Italian passport have been in great form after arriving from Bologna in January 2010, attracting attention from a host of Premiership clubs.
However, it appears that he is very close to agreeing a €10 million switch to Atletico Madird, where he will replace Diego Forlan.
It is believed that the prospect of playing in Europe next season as well as the significant pay rise were the reasons behind Osvaldo’s decision to pick Atletico.
