According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, Atletico Madrid are considering the possibility of moving to sign Alejandro Garnacho from Manchester United next month.
Atletico boss Diego Simeone recently revealed being impressed by his compatriot, and he apparently believes the 20-year-old winger could be the key to strengthening his attacking ranks, especially with the possibility of Antoine Griezmann leaving the Rojiblancos for a second time in mind.
Garnacho actually rose through the youth levels at Atletico, before joining Manchester United’s Under-18 side in 2020, and Simeone sees him as a possible missing piece of the puzzle for his attacking trio of the future, alongside the coach’s son Giuliano Simeone and former Manchester City forward Julian Alvarez.
This season, Garnacho has scored eight goals and produced four assists in 24 appearances across all competitions, and despite his omission from the squad for the Manchester Derby several days ago, his price won’t be small, given that his contract at Old Trafford does not expire before the summer of 2028.
