Spanish giants Atletico Madrid are hot on the trail of Benfica starlet Bryan Cristante, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Italy international has quickly become one of Europe’s hottest commodities, having impressed since joining Atalanta on a season-long loan.
Having seen the central midfielder score 8 goals in 16 matches this season, Orobici are set to exercise a €4 million buy-out clause in the player’s contract.
However, with a host of top European clubs keeping tabs on Cristante, Atalanta will probably be forced to sell in the summer.
Juventus, Inter Milan and Lazio are all believed to be keen on the 22-year-old footballer, while Atletico Madrid have joined the chase as well.
Cristante is already valued at €40 million, meaning that Atalanta will be in for a major windfall at the end of the season.
