La Liga leaders Atletico Madrid are stepping up their efforts to sign Real Betis starlet Dani Ceballos.
El Confidencial has suggested that los Colchoneros want to make the talented footballer their first signing of the summer.
Atletico Madrid officials have been in contact with the player’s representative to see whether Ceballos would be interested in moving to Vicente Calderon.
Dani Ceballos is widely regarded as the hottest prospect to have come out of Real Betis’ youth academy since Joaquin Sanchez and he recently signed a new deal until 2020.
Nevertheless, Atletico Madrid bosses are determined to bring him to Madrid and could soon open talks with his employers.
Dani Ceballos, who had spent his early days with local rivals Sevilla, impressed playing for los Verdiblancos in the second division last term.
However, he hasn’t made such an impact in this year’s La Liga campaign, failing to register a single goal in 17 outings.
