Champions League finalists Atletico Madrid are readying a fresh assault on former player Diego Costa, according to AS.
Los Colchoneros have decided to recruit a world-class forward this summer and have already been linked with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazette and Kevin Gameiro.
However, it is believed that Chelsea’s Diego Costa is their number one priority at the moment.
And while the Blues are ready to entertain offers for the Spain international, they will not let him go before two new strikers arrive at Stamford Bridge.
One of them has already joined as Michy Batshuayi sealed his move from Marseille, while Antonio Conte reportedly wants Gonzalo Higuain to follow in his footsteps.
Diego Costa, 27, probably wouldn’t mind returning to Estadio Vicente Calderon, having impressed during his first spell at the club, making 94 La Liga appearances and scoring 43 goals in total.
The Spaniard is no longer considered an important member of the side at Stamford Bridge and he is almost certain to leave this summer.
