La Liga high flyers Atletico Madrid have taken a keen interest in FC Porto youngster Ismael Diaz, according to El Siglo.
The 18-year-old footballer has caught the eye of several top clubs with his performances for Porto II in the second tier, but it would appear as though los Colchoneros lead the chase at the moment.
Atletico Madrid scouts watched the attacker in action in weekend’s derby win over Benfica II, and they must have returned happy with Diaz bagging a brace at Caixa Futebol Campus.
At the same time, Primeira Liga rivals Benfica are keen on the talented footballer and could make their move in the January window.
Ismael Diaz only joined Porto from native Panama last summer, but he has shown a great deal of potential playing for the reserve side.
The Panama Under-20 international has been in excellent form this season, having bagged 7 goals in 19 league outings.
