According to Il Corriere dello Sport, Spanish side Atletico Madrid are interested in signing Fiorentina centre-back Nikola Milenkovic. The 20-year-old has been a tremendous defender for the Italian side ever since moving from Partizan Belgrade back in 2015, and now, it seems as if he’s attracting attention from one of the top sides in European football.
Milenkovic is known for his commanding presence and composure on the ball, and at 6 ft 5, he’s certainly going to win you plenty of duels in the air. The youngster is currently in Russia where he was in the starting line-up for Serbia’s impressive opening game victory over Costa Rica in the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
Milenkovic has also been on the radar of Everton among a handful of other clubs around Europe, and while their interest in him will be flattering, it’ll likely be nothing compared to a possible move to Atletico Madrid who are coming off the back of a Europa League triumph.
