Spanish giants Atletico Madrid are weighing up a summer move for Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani, AS can reveal.
Los Colchoneros head coach Diego Simeone is a big fan of the Uruguayan forward and he believes the 29-year-old would fit in perfectly at Vicente Calderon.
The problem is that Cavani is on the radar of few more top clubs, while PSG may not be prepared to let him go after the strong start to the new season.
The Uruguay international is finally a first choice striker at Parc des Princes, and he has been in stunning form this term, bagging 11 goals in 9 competitive appearances.
Despite struggling in the opening exchanges, Paris Saint-Germain remain 1/4 favourites to defend the Ligue 1 trophy.
Atletico Madrid will attempt to secure a deal for Cavani at the end of the season and it remains to be seen whether they will be successful.
