Atletico Madrid are interested in signing Rennes ace Rod Fanni, according to his agent Dominique Six.
Atletico Madrid sporting director, Jesus Garcia Pitarch, have already started talks with Six over a move for Fanni in the January transfer window.
“Pitarch called me three days ago to talk about Fanni’s situation and the possibility of going for him in the winter. We have had a very friendly relationship since August, when Atleti were close to signing him,” Six explained to AS.
“Stade Rennais renewed Fanni’s deal in November for another year in order to augment his value, and we accepted it because we have a verbal agreement that they will let him leave in the summer.
“This complicates a January transfer, since Rennes could use the same excuse to stop Fanni from being an Atletico player in August – the lack of a full-back who could cover his position.”
