Atletico Madrid are in talks with Fiorentina over the signing of Serbian attacking midfielder Adem Ljajic, AS has revealed.
Los Colchoneros have recently joined the race for the highly rated footballer and they are keen to lure him to Vicente Calderon in the summer transfer window.
Ljajic doesn’t have a release clause in his contract, but with his deal set to expire in a year’s time, Atletico have been informed they can sign him for €10 million.
Viola officials have so far been unable to reach an agreement with the player’s representatives over a new deal and they might have to cash in on their star player this summer.
Ljajic may have had a slow start to his career at Artemio Franchi, but he has largely impressed last season.
The 21-year-old was in fine form throughout the league campaign, managing 11 goals and 6 assists in 28 Serie A games for Viola.
