Champions League finalists Atletico Madrid have emerged as main candidates to sign Celta Vigo forward Nolito, according to AS.
The Sky Blues somehow managed to keep hold of the highly rated footballer in January, but everything suggests he will be leaving for greener pastures this summer.
And while long-term suitors Barcelona do not seem prepared to match his €18 million release clause, their La Liga rivals Atletico Madrid are ready to splash out on the Spain international.
Los Colchoneros boss Diego Simeone has been largely impressed with Nolito’s performances last season and he is determined to wrap up the deal as soon as possible.
The 29-year-old could have an important role to play for Spain at the Euro 2016 finals, meaning that there will be few more top clubs ready to trigger his buy-out clause if the forward continues with excellent performances on the international stage.
