Atletico Madrid have expressed interest in signing Lyon’s Cesar Delgado, according to El Mundo Deportivo.
Los Colchoneros are set to enter the market looking for attacking reinforcements and they have set their sights on Lyon forward Cesar Delgado.
The Argentine looks likely to leave Gerland when his current deal expires in the summer and it is thought that Atletico Madrid will jump at the opportunity to sign such a good player on a free transfer.
The 29-year-old has been offered a new deal at Lyon, but he looks to have already decided to leave at the end of the season.
Atletico Madrid tried to sign the Argentine several times in the past but without any success, although los Colchoneros are hoping they will be successful this time.
The Spanish side have already contacted Delgado regarding a summer transfer and they are leading the race for his signature, with the only problem that fact that the player doesn’t hold an EU passport.
Nonetheless, Atletico are expected to clear the way for Delgado by selling Diego Costa and helping Diego Godin gain a Spanish passport.
