Atletico Madrid are pondering move for Fenerbahce midfielder Emre Belezoglu, according to Marca.

Atletico Madrid chiefs and club’s technical department has held a serious of meetings this week in order to outline their goals for the new season and they have reached a conclusion that the team need at least one more central midfielder.

With Paulo Assuncao set to leave the club and Thiago Mendes likely to do so, Marca reports that los Colchoneros will try and sign Emre Belezoglu from Fenerbahce.

The Turkish international will be 32 in September, but it looks as though he still has a lot to offer at the biggest stage.

Another advantage is that the player’s contract with Fenerbahce expires at the end of the season, meaning there will be no transfer fee involved.

The experienced midfielder has spent last four years with the Turkish giants and he has been especially impressive this term, having scored 6 goals in 26 Turkish Super Lig games.
