Argentina and Ajax left-back Nicolas Tagliafico could be on his way to Atletico Madrid, according to reports coming from Dutch media outlet Voetbal Zone.
The 26-year-old defender moved to the Netherlands in January but has done more than enough to get the attention from some of Europe’s top football clubs.
Arsenal are said to be keeping a close tab on former Independiente man who is eyed as a potential long-term replacement for ageing Nacho Monreal but the latest reports have it that La Liga powerhouse Atletico Madrid are joining the chase.
Los Colchoneros are eyeing a January swoop for the Argentinean and are said to have already prepared an offer worth up to €25 million for the defender.
Tagliafico has been going from strength to strength at Ajax ever since joining the club at the beginning of the year.
His fine performances in the Netherlands have earned him a spot in the Argentina World Cup squad this summer.
