Atletico Madrid pursue Mir

According to a recent report from AS, Atletico Madrid are interested in potentially making a move to sign Rafa Mir from Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Mir is coming off the back of a really strong loan spell with Huesca last season that saw him really put his name on the map in a big way over in Spain. Atletico, who won La Liga, were one of the clubs that took note of his success, and they’re now seriously looking into the possibility of pursuing a deal for Mir.

Wolves, for whatever reason, haven’t appeared to be particularly invested in the idea of keeping Mir in their books for a while now – swinging the door wide open for him to explore some other possibilities.

He clearly has the right style of play for the Spanish top tier and if Atletico can slot him into their system, he could reaffirm his position as one of the best forwards in the league.
