After a 1-1 draw away to Barcelona, Atletico will consider themselves in the driving seat to qualify as they don’t even have to win at the Vicente Calderon to go through to the semi-finals.

Their defensive record at home at is the best in the league – conceding just nine goals in 16 matches. Even on their travels, no other La Liga side has conceded less goals than Diego Simeone’s men (13) – amassing 16 clean sheets in total in the league.

Madrid are being given odds of 11/10 from Ladbrokes to qualify at the expense of Barcelona next week, and considering they haven’t lost at home all season, the Catalan giants could well be the biggest name eliminated from the quarter-finals.

Barcelona have looked human on their travels this campaign. They drew 0-0 at Atletico Madrid in the league at the Vicente Calderon, while also having lost twice in their previous four away from the Nou Camp. Four away wins from their last nine in the league certainly isn’t good enough for Barcelona, but Atletico Madrid will have big hopes they can use their own home advantage to get themselves into the semi-finals of the Champions League.
