Spanish giants Atletico Madrid have moved to confirm reports linking PSG star Thiago Motta with a summer switch to Vicente Calderon.
Los Colchoneros boss Diego Simeone has made the Italy international his primary target to reinforce the centre of the park and it appears that an agreement may be on the horizon.
Atletico Madrid chairman Enrique Cerezo has confessed that they are in talks with Paris Saint-Germain over the experienced midfielder.
“He’s a player that we’re interested in,” Cerezo was quoted as saying. “Every negotiation takes its time, and this particular one is taking quite long, but we’re working on it.”
Thiago Motta has another year left on his deal at Parc des Princes, but it is no secret that he wants to leave this summer.
Even PSG coach Laurent Blanc admitted that he wanted the matter to be resolved as quickly as possible, as he does not want unhappy players in the squad.
Thiago Motta, 32, was also linked with a return to Inter Milan, but it looks as though the Nerazzurri have puled out of the race.
