La Liga giants Atletico Madrid have agreed to sign Argentine midfielder Jose Sosa from Metalist Kharkiv, according to the player’s official representative.
Agent Ezequiel Manera revealed via his Twitter account that los Colchoneros will sign the Argentine on loan until the end of the season with an option to buy.
“Jose Sosa will play for Atletico on loan for the following months with an option for them to then buy him,” Manera tweeted.
Los Colchoneros had been looking for midfield reinforcements in an attempt to keep their La Liga title bid alive and they appear to have secured the first signing of the winter transfer window.
Jose Ernesto Sosa began his career at Estudiantes and enjoyed spells with Bayern Munich and Napoli before joining Metalist in the summer of 2011.
He has since impressed in Ukraine’s elite division, notching 17 goals in 54 league appearances for the club.
Sosa remains an important member of Argentina national team and has made a total of 7 appearances in the 2014 World Cup qualifiers.
