Atletico Madrid have confirmed the signing of Nikola Kalinic, who arrives from AC Milan. The 30-year-old forward, who played for Blackburn Rovers once upon a time, has been heavily linked with a move away from the San Siro throughout the course of the summer transfer window. Now, after weeks of speculation, he can finally focus on getting his head down and playing for Atletico as they go in search of La Liga glory once again.
Kalinic has also been in the headlines as of late courtesy of his conduct at the 2018 FIFA World Cup, where he refused to come on as a substitute for Croatia and was then sent home from the tournament as a result. Kalinic was then offered a silver medal in the wake of the ordeal with Croatia reaching the final, but due to the circumstances involved, he rejected the medal – raising some concerns about his attitude.
