La Liga giants Atletico Madrid have today confirmed the signing of the Spanish winger Vitolo who becomes the new Rojiblancos player despite the ongoing registration ban.
The FIFA transfer ban has been a severe blow for Atletico Madrid who cannot bolster their ranks with new players until 2018. The Rojiblancos, therefore, missed on a number of players including Alexandre Lacazette who ended up signing for Arsenal.
However, the Spanish giants have managed to work their way around the rules to sign Sevilla winger Vitolo, who bought out his contract in order to become a free agent and gave Atletico Madrid the nod to a contract until 2022.
The 27-year-old Spanish international seems to have forked out €37.5 million to rescind his contract with Sevilla and Atletico Madrid will pay him back that amount of money.
Vitolo will immediately move to Las Palmas where he will spend next six months playing as a loaned player before joining up with his new teammates on 1 January 2018.
