Atletico Madrid to go after Lacazette

According to a recent report from Mundo Deportivo, Atletico Madrid are going to be setting their sights on Arsenal forward Alexandre Lacazette when Antoine Griezmann’s departure from the club is confirmed. Lacazette scored 19 goals for the Gunners during the season, with the belief being that he could be tempted to leave the Emirates if they fail to win the Europa League – meaning they wouldn’t be playing Champions League football again next season. The final in Baku is certainly going to be a bit of an all or nothing scenario for Arsenal, and if this report is to be believed, then there’s even more riding on it than we thought. Lacazette is in the prime of his career right now and will want to be playing at the very highest level, which is a level that Atletico are very much at right now.

Either way, it should be an interesting summer for both clubs.
