Atletico Madrid have made Schalke midfielder Juan Manuel Jurado their number one target for the summer transfer window, AS reports.
The 25-year-old joined the Miners in a €13 million deal from Atletico in August 2010, but has utterly failed to justify the hefty price tag at Veltins Arena.
The Bundesliga side want to cash in on the Spaniard in the summer and they are willing to listen to offers for the playmaker.
According to AS, Atletico Madrid want to re-sign the player in the summer and los Colchoneros are expected to make an official bid in the near future.
The La Liga side already have a great playmaker in Diego, but with the Brazilian likely to return to Wolfsburg when his loan deal ends in the summer, Atletico are desperate to sign him a replacement.
The club chiefs believe Jurado would be a great addition to the squad seeing that the Spaniard has already spent four years at Vicente Calderon.
