According to a recent report from AS, Atletico Madrid are eager to extend the loan deal of Yannick Carrasco beyond the end of the current campaign.
The popular Belgian made his return to the Spanish giants on a six-month loan deal back in January, two years after heading over to China to sign for Dalian Yifang.
His contract in China is set to end in 2022, but Atletico are still hoping that they can draw a few more months – or potentially an entire season – out of him before he’s officially called back.
Carrasco has made five appearances since pulling the Atletico shirt back on, and it’s clear to see that they want to know what else he can provide them with if he’s given more time to shine.
A similar situation happened recently with Odion Ighalo, where it seemed as if he was going to be heading back to China – only for Manchester United to make their intentions on extending his deal crystal clear.
