According to a recent report from AS, Atletico Madrid are set to go after Athletic Bilbao stars Inaki Williams and Yeray Alvarez during the summer transfer window. Atletico have made it clear that they’re going to be ruthless during the transfer window this year, as they attempt to go in search of both domestic and European dominance. Williams is considered to be the primary target out of the two, and as such, he is also going to be the most expensive. He has a £77 million release clause in his contract, with Liverpool being one of the other interested parties.
Atletico haven’t been afraid to spend money in the past when it matters the most, and all things considered, we’d say that this is when things ‘matter the most’.
The club pushed Barca in the race for the La Liga title throughout most of the season, but in the end they fell short.
