Club Atlético de Madrid midfielder Maniche is preparing for an emotional return to the Estádio do Dragão for his team’s UEFA Champions League first knockout round second-leg meeting with FC Porto, Uefa.com reported.
“Porto played better than we did,” he explained. “They practically controlled the whole match; in fact, it’s a wonder they didn’t score more. We knew it was going to be difficult if we weren’t at our best; they were very calm and after they equalised for the first time they created many scoring opportunities,” Maniche continued.
“There are still 90 minutes to play and although things will be tough, I feel we have good enough players. But we’ll have to be at our best.”
