Atletico Madrid look set to reignite their interest in Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke, reports Marca.
Los Colchoneros are aware they could again stay without a star striker as Diego Costa continues to be linked with a host of top European clubs.
As a result, they are already working on finding a replacement for the Spain international, with Christian Benteke reportedly the first name on their hit-list.
The Belgian forward was on Atletico’s radar in the summer, and los Colchoneros are set to return for the highly rated footballer.
And even with the 23-year-old struggling for form of late, having gone more than three months without scoring, the La Liga side have not been put off from pursuing his signature.
Atletico Madrid remained tied on points with league leaders Barcelona thanks to a hard-fought victory over Levante, and Vicente Calderon outfit are priced at 5/1 to produce a major upset and lift the La Liga trophy.
