AS claims that Atletico are preparing an assault on Barcelona winger Cristian Tello.

The talented forward was introduced into the senior squad at Camp Nou last season and he has shown a lot of potential in a handful of first team appearances.

Los Colchoneros are hoping to sign the player on loan, although several things need to be sorted first.

Barcelona boss Tito Vilanova will be the one to decide whether Tello will be available on loan, but the odds are that he will accept Atletico’s proposal if both Ibrahim Afellay and David Villa fully recover before the start of the season.

The Catalans also need to persuade the player to renew his deal that is set to expire next summer, and the negotiations with Atletico are unlikely to start before the issue is sorted out.
