Amid reports of Tottenham Hotspur interest, Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo Torres has played down the suggestions that Rodrigo de Paul wants to leave the club and that they’re open to the idea of a sale in one of the next two transfer windows.
The 28-year-old Argentina international has reportedly already turned down a move to Spurs (and Fiorentina) in order to stay at the Wanda Metropolitano during the summer.
Atletico Madrid president Cerezo: “Rodrigo de Paul for sale? We don’t know anything about it. De Paul is a good player, he’s from Atlético de Madrid, we’re happy with him”, told @RadioDelPlata. ⚠️🇦🇷 #transfers

De Paul joined Atletico from Udinese in 2021 for a reported fee of €35 million. Contracted to the La Liga side until 2026, the midfielder is an important part of Diego Simeone’s team, having started six of the 10 league matches so far.
