Atletico Madrid have prepared a new contract for Thomas Partey to sign and put on the table, according to AS. It seems the Rojiblancos are keen to reflect his increased presence and role in the team this season with an increase in wages, as well as to secure his long-term future at the club.
The 6’1″ midfield powerhouse played in every La Liga game this season for which he was available, which is 24 of the 27 Atletico have played so far. He started 21 of those and came off the bench three times. He has also started every Champions League game so far.
Apparently, Partey has a buyout clause set at €50 million, which Arsenal and Manchester United have both been considering activating. In order to safeguard against losing the 26-year-old only a year after Rodri left to join Manchester City, Atletico are believed to have raised the clause in the newly offered contract to €100m.
