(GSM) – Atletico Madrid have re-signed Mario Suarez from Mallorca in a bid to strengthen their defence of the UEFA Europa League title.
The 23-year-old midfielder, who was signed back with a reported fee of €1.8m, left Vicente Calderon for Mallorca in 2008, after loan spells with Valladolid CF and Celta Vigo.
While, Mallorca did acquire Suarez on a four-year deal, Atletico did have the right to buy him back within the first 24 months.
Suarez made 34 league appearances for Mallorca last term, 27 from the start, as Gregorio Manzano’s team qualified for the UEFA Europa League by virtue of a fifth-place finish.
