Atletico Madrid have revealed they have rejected a number of offers for star striker Radamel Falcao Garcia in the summer transfer window.
The Colombian joined los Colchoneros in a €40 million deal from Porto last summer, and has enjoyed a brilliant start to his career at Vicente Calderon.
With Atletico struggling to find almost €30 million that they still owe to the Portuguese club, top European clubs tried to take advantage of the situation and attempted to sign the highly rated forward this summer.
Atletico Madrid chief executive Miguel Angel Gil Marin reveals the club have received no less than four official bids for the player.
“A French club a Russian and two English came for Falcao and he stayed because we took a risk we would be able to make our payments,” Gil Marin explained to ESPN.
Radamel Falcao Garcia has scored 36 goals in 50 competitive appearances for los Colchoneros last term, while he has already netted 6 times in 3 games this season.
The Colombia international scored a hat-trick in the UEFA Super Cup match against Chelsea to help his side record a 4-1 victory.
