La Liga giants Atletico Madrid are set to complete the signing of talented attacker Angel Correa from San Lorenzo, the Argentine club have revealed.
Los Colchoneros were one of the clubs keeping close tabs on the player dubbed ‘next Kun Aguero’ and they seem to have beaten other interested sides to his signature.
San Lorenzo vice-president Marcelo Tinelli announced the news at a press conference on Wednesday.
“Next week or the one after that, Matias (Lammens, club president) will travel to Madrid to wrap up Correa’s transfer to Atletico (Madrid),” Tinelli told reporters.
The 19-year-old will not be joining his new employers before the start of August as he is set to help San Lorenzo try and qualify for the Copa Libertadores final.
Angel Correa is widely regarded as one of country’s hottest prospects, and he has so far scored 10 goals in 48 league appearances for the Argentine giants.
The youngster is predicted a bright future in the game and a move to high-flying Atletico Madrid marks the new chapter in his career.
