Atletico start search for new left-back

Atletico Madrid could enter a market for a new left-back in January, according to Spanish daily Marca.

Los Colchoneros have been absolutely brilliant since the start of the season, but club officials and boss Diego Simeone are eager to ensure the team continue the trend of impressive results.

It is for that reason that they are looking to sign a new left-sided defender in the winter transfer window.

First choice left-back Filipe Luis has been in scintillating form this term, but Atletico officials are not satisfied with players supposed to provide back-up for the Brazilian.

Silvio and Cisma have both failed to impress at Santiago Bernabeu, meaning that both could be sold in January in order to raise funds for a new full-back.

The financial situation at Vicente Calderon is such that Atletico cannot afford to spend in January unless they first sell a couple of fringe players.
