Atletico still want Joao Felix

According to a recent report from Marca, Benfica sensation Joao Felix is said to be Atletico Madrid’s number one choice to replace Antoine Griezmann this summer. The Frenchman is being tipped to join Barcelona during the current transfer window, but there’s been no confirmation yet one way or another regarding when the deal may take place. Felix, on the other hand, is an incredibly wanted young man, after a breakout season in Portugal that has seen him become one of the most intriguing young prospects in world football. He is said to be costing whoever buys him around £100 million, and Atletico are eager to make that kind of investment.

Griezmann’s departure is certainly going to be a big one but at the same time, putting that kind of faith in a player as young and inexperienced as Felix is a really interesting move to make on Atletico’s part. Will it pay off?
