Spanish giants Atletico Madrid are stepping up their efforts to sign Brazilian full-back Fabinho, Le 10 Sport understands.
Los Colchoneros are looking to sign a long-term successor to Juanfran and they have chosen the Monaco defender as their primary target.
And despite the fact that their initial bid for the 22-year-old had been rejected, Atletico Madrid have returned with a new bid as they clearly hope to wrap up the deal as soon as possible.
In spite of his fragile age, the former Real Madrid starlet has plenty of Ligue 1 experience, having made a total of 96 league appearances for the Principality club.
Atletico Madrid are not the only top club showing interest in the Brazilian, who was previously linked with Juventus, Manchester United and Inter Milan.
Fabinho was named in Brazil’s Copa America squad, but he didn’t make a single appearance as the Selecao crashed out in the group stage.
