Atletico Madrid have rekindled their interest in Porto striker Radamel Falcao Garcia, AS has reported.
Los Colchoneros are widely looking for a new striker following Kun Aguero’s move to Manchester City and they are hoping to persuade Porto’s Falcao to make a switch to Vicente Calderon.
The Colombian striker was at first deemed too expensive for the La Liga side, but after Atletico were informed that their other target, Espanyol striker Osvaldo would cost around €20 million, they have decided to reignite their interest in Falcao.
The Porto forward has recently signed a new deal at Dragao, but was given assurances that he would be allowed to leave if the right offer comes along.
Falcao’s release clause was raised from €30 to €45 million, but Atletico believe that the Colombian can be acquired for €35 million.
Instead of paying the full amount in cash, los Colchoneros are prepared to offer Eduardo Salvio in exchange, the player who is valued at €15 million.
The only problem is that Salvio has spent last season on loan at Benfica and could be reluctant to join Eagles’ fierce rivals.
